The New York City Metropolitan Area Chapter of the American Statistical Association is an organization that attracts a diverse population due to its location. Its members include professionals from the academic, public, and private sectors. The goal of our chapter is to provide a service for the community.
Chapter meetings, which include guest speakers, are open to both members and nonmembers. The guest speakers attract three diverse types of audiences. They include professionals from the business community, such as marketing, management, and finance. In addition, the speakers attract biostatisticians from pharmaceutical companies and health related institutions. The audiences also include professionals from the social sciences, such as psychologists and educational researchers.
