Are Pleased To Invite You To Participate In


The New York City Metro Area Chapter of the American Statistical Association is sponsoring their First Annual Statistical Poster Competition for Grades K-12 in New York City, to help teachers and schools enrich students’ understanding of statistics and data in general. The competition is a professional resource for teachers and students to apply statistics. To that end, it will not only support the teaching of mathematics, but will ultimately benefit New York City’s educational community.

Judging Categories
Grades K-3
Grades 4-6
Grades 7-9
Grades 10-12

Poster Submission Deadline
March 7, 2008

Poster Entry Application Form
A separate entry form must be completed and paper clipped (not glued or stapled)
to each poster when the poster is formally submitted.

Winning Posters
Posters will be judged in four grade categories: K-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12.
Teachers with winning posters will be notified by March 28, 2007.
Certificates will be awarded to winning schools and students.

Awards Ceremony
An awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008.
The ceremony is for all participating schools and students.

First Place Teams - $100
Second Place Teams - $75
Third Place Teams - $50

Selected posters will be forwarded to the
2008 American Statistical Association Poster Competition in Washington, D.C.
You may also submit posters directly to the national competition.
