The New York City Metro Area Chapter of the American Statistical Association is sponsoring their Second Annual Statistical Poster Competition for Grades K-12 in New York City, to help teachers and schools enrich students’ understanding of statistics and data in general. The competition is a professional resource for teachers and students to apply statistics. To that end, it will not only support the teaching of mathematics, but will ultimately benefit New York City’s educational community.
Poster Submission Deadline All posters MUST be received by Friday, March 6, 2009.

paper clipped to each poster when the poster is submitted.

Winning Posters Certificates will be awarded to winning schools and students.
Poster winners will be announced by Monday, March 23, 2009.
Awards Ceremony Saturday, March 28, 2009 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. By invitation only and is limited to poster winners,
two guests per poster winner,
and teachers and principals of schools with winners.
Additional details about the awards ceremony will be included with the invitations.
Prizes First Place Teams - $100
Second Place Teams - $75
Third Place Teams - $50
Selected posters will be forwarded to the
2009 American Statistical Association Poster Competition in Washington, D.C.

Poster Competition Registration There is no fee to participate, but advanced registration is required.
