Wendy Galpern, M.D.
Program Director, Office of Clinical Research
Dr. Galpern will share her experience as a clinician and NIH official,
and discuss how statisticians can help in the planning and analytical stages of clinical trials.

Mei-Yin Polley, Ph.D.
Statistician, Biometric Research Branch
Dr. Polley will talk about her experiences as a statistician in industry, academic and government settings.

Tom Pajak, Ph.D.
Senior Statistician
Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG)
Dr. Pajak will discuss his 29 years of experience as a statistician at the RTOG.

This panel of experts with diverse backgrounds in clinical trials will cover many issues in methodology and practice. Topics of discussion will range from lessons learned from the Coronary Drug Project, to current thinking on personalized medicine via biomarker trials. They will also discuss clinician-statistician interaction from both perspectives. The panelists will also take questions from the audience.
