Psychiatry Information Technology (PsyIT) and the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) have initiated a number of joint projects to develop and enhance technologies available to the research community at NYSPI. These capabilities include hosting on sophisticated server clusters, server access and security management at the division/project level, centralized storage and backup, and a number of web-based research data management and project management systems for clinical trials and observational studies - all capable of supporting multi-site projects with geographically dispersed users. These capabilities and associated services are scalable, so that system selection, complexity and cost can be adjusted to meet research needs and accommodate budgets at the level of the division, project, and/or individual investigator. These and other currently available technologies and services will be described, and the future of research information technology systems under development or in planning will be discussed. Investigators, programmers, data managers, IT professionals and biostatisticians are cordially invited to attend and share their ideas and knowledge.
